TEFRA/
Katie Beckett Waiver

Georgia children with severe disabilities (mental or physical) can qualify for Medicaid under the so-called Katie Beckett waiver. These children are in families with incomes too high to qualify for other Medicaid. The Katie Beckett waiver allows these families to have higher income for eligibility purposes, but permits the children to stay at home so long as their medical services cost no more than they would in an institution.

NOW & COMP

The New Options Waiver (NOW) and the Comprehensive Supports Waiver Program (COMP) offer home- and community-based services for people with a developmental or intellectual disability. A diagnosis of developmental disability includes mental retardation or other closely-related conditions such as cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism or neurological problems.

CCSP

CCSP is a Medicaid waiver program that provides a range of community-based services to assist individuals who are older and/or have disabilities to achieve safe, self-reliant lives. Health Force of Georgia is a Georgia-approved, participating provider of at-home care services to adults eligible to receive the CCSP waiver. This means persons who qualify for the CCSP program may receive homecare or skilled nursing care services at no charge or a small monthly cost-share as Health Force of Georgia is reimbursed directly by the State of Georgia.

SOURCE

Service Options Using Resources in a Community Environment (SOURCE) links primary medical care and case management with approved long-term health services in a person’s home or community. All SOURCE clients must be eligible for full Medicaid and meet nursing home level of care.

GAPP

The Georgia Pediatric Program (GAPP) of the Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) serves eligible children under 21 years of age who are medically fragile and in need of medically necessary skilled nursing care and/or medically necessary personal care support. Eligible members should currently be receiving physician ordered services to be considered eligible for this program.

Family Support Service

Family Support Services is a non-entitlement program which brokers disability specific services based on each individual and families unique needs. Family Support Services are based on the value that families belong together and individuals are best served in the community setting. These supports meet every day needs that are often critical in avoiding family crises. The goal of Family Support Services is to assist in maintaining a cohesive family unit and to assist the individual to live at home in the community.
